Avalokiteshivara Retreat

Kha Khyab Rangdrol

Accomplishing the Purpose of Beings Throughout Space

A Practice Retreat Led By Lama Drimed Lodro
With special eclipse practices and tsog on Monday October 3 (solar eclipse day)

Initiated by Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche in 2003, Orgyen Dorje Den’s annual practice retreat on Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) is based upon the profound sadhana Accomplishing the Purpose of Beings Throughout Space, revealed by Domang Terton Dorje Dechen Lingpa, and introduced to ODD by Venerable Yangtang Tulku, the terton’s reincarnation. Venerable Gyatrul Rinpoche has requested that his students and other interested practitioners take to heart this profound practice of great compassion, which held a special place in the spiritual traditions of their home monastery in Tibet, Domang.

The retreat will coincide with a solar eclipse, when the benefit to beings is particularly powerful, and will include special eclipse practices revealed by the Terton for use on such occasions. The retreat will be led by Lama Drimed Lodro, lama in residence at Orgyen Dorje Den. A large tsog will be performed on Monday, October 3. Please bring food and drink offerings Sunday afternoon, or early Monday evening.
