The Dechen Monlam was composed by the great 17th century mahasiddha Karma Chagme. Revered by both the Nyingma and Karma Kargyu traditions, Karma Chagme first recorded and transmitted the Namcho termas of Terton Mingyur Dorje, and was the author of the quintessential Payul Nyingmapa works, Buddhahood in the Palm of the Hand and The Union of Mahamudra and Atiyoga.

Dechen Monlam is considered to be a vajra accomplishment aspirational prayer, bestowing inconceivable blessings upon those who recite its vajra words. It is said that when one practices this prayer correctly, rebirth in Dewachen is guaranteed due to its immense power.

Lama Drimed Lodro will present this prayer, which vividly describes Dewachen, the supreme pure realm, the merit of supplicating to Buddha Amitabha, and the benefit of taking rebirth in his pure realm.
